Primary Therapist- Bachelor's Level
DIVISION: Adult Mental Health –Recovery Programs
REPORTS TO: Associate Director or Program Coordinator
Brief outline of position:
1. Assist assigned People in Recovery (PIR) in defining and progressing toward self-defined recovery goals.
2. Provide individual and group counseling for PIR utilizing an Evidenced-Based Practices approach.
3. Insure that defined clinical documents are completed and updated in cooperation with PIR and according to program procedures.
4. Assist in all aspects of recovery program as directed by Associate Director/ Program Coordinator.
5. Facilitate psycho-educational, skills training, rehabilitation and therapy groups as assigned.
6. Work in cooperation with CPS to provide case management and assertive community treatment for person in recovery.
7. Assist persons in recovery to become familiar with and utilize existing community resources to achieve recovery goals.
8. Work in cooperation with PIR in design and implementation of program schedule.
9. Rotating on-call responsibilities.
10. Participate in all team meetings.
11. Attend mandated Recovery and Rehabilitation trainings.
12. Attend scheduled in-service training.
13. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Associate Director.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required. In addition, a CAC is a plus. Experience in a Recovery oriented program, Rehabilitation program and/or a partial hospital setting is preferred. One to two years of post-degree experience preferred. Knowledge of D&A treatment is a plus. Will be required to complete training in Recovery and Rehabilitation within 2 years of full time employment. Must have physical ability to: A) Climb stairs; B) Restrain clients in emergency situations; C) Take public transportation.
