The
Consultation and Education Specialist Program
is a voluntary service offered to families within
a specific school. The program design ensures
that a child at risk for behavioral health issues
gains access to community-based agencies.
The Consultation and Education Specialist assists
the parents/caregivers and the schools in procuring
mental health, medical, social and education
services. The specialist also provides outreach
services to children and their families, with
emphasis on individualized plans that are biologically,
psychologically and socially appropriate and
culturally competent. The mission of the Consultation
and Education Specialist is to maintain a continuity
of care by ensuring that a comprehensive service
system exists for children and their families.
