Catch's Kinship Care Project expands and
enhances the range of services available to
South Philadelphia children and adolescents
with serious emotional disturbances. While there
are a number of components to the Kinship Care
Project, its primary focus is providing comprehensive
social work services by Intensive Care Managers
to seriously mentally ill children who attend
South Philadelphia elementary and middle schools.
These Intensive Case Managers focus on ensuring
timely access to an integrated coordination
of needed services for children and adolescents
with serious emotional disturbances. Of major
interest with regardto the Kinship Care Project
is the enhanced coordination of mental health
services with a range of other children's service
systems, with special emphasis being given to
education. Catch Intensive Case Managers are
directly linked with particular schools in the
targeted community, enhancing the schools' capacities
as sites for accessing services. |
